Young Alberta Cowboys Ridin' and Ropin'

I love these photos. These young men living real life.  No sitting in front of iPads for them. They look pretty serious but one for one they love their life.  I spent the day photographing these young Alberta cowboys (several years ago) and these young men were some of the hardest working.  No question that they knew what they were doing.
And at the lunch break, I was welcomed as one of their own. 

High school kids in Southern Alberta learn these skills in school.  But then again, they are usually pretty proficient before they get to school.

These photos were shot at a friends ranch in Southern Alberta.  The ranch has been in the same family for something like 160 years.
