Canada Freedom Truckers – Our Day 3

Canada Freedom Truckers – Our Day 3

Freedom Convoy - Ottawa - 2022

Riding up the elevator this evening I met a man that was originally from Romania.  He had been arrested earlier in the evening.  He spent two hours at the cop shop and then was released without charges

Many that have been released the same way are told that they have to sign a document saying they won’t go back down to the demonstration if released.  Not so for him.  He was pretty upset.  He has lived through this oppression before and really doesn’t want to do so again.

We are leaving tomorrow.  The biggest take away is the wonderful people that we have met.  Never have I met such a cross section of loving, kind folks.

Hundreds of hugs, many just short of desperate.  Hugs that don’t end.  Conversations that are meaningful.  No social bullshit.  People are raw and open and in love with their country, passionate about keeping it whole.

Yesterday we spoke with Danny Bulford, an ex-RCMP Officer.  Danny used to work in Justin Trudeau’s protection detail.  What a nice man. He could not do the corruption anymore. Landed on the side of good. He has been helping steer the Convoy and demonstrators on a good path.  He was arrested today.  Below is a photo of Yvonne and Danny some hours before his arrest.

If you come across this post and want some first hand knowledge of what has been going on at the street level, what the main news agencies won’t tell you, then please contact me.

Freedom Convoy Ottawa Canada

Our visit Day One

15th February 2022

Arrived on the 14th of February 2022.  Most of the truckers are over two weeks in at this point.  Got settled in and ready for Tuesday.

Our hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk to the centre of things at the Parliament buildings.

We came here for a few reasons.

One, we have some good friends that are here in their truck and we wanted to show them our support - help them in anyway we could.  We also wanted to ‘see for ourselves’.  We know quite a number of people that have this idea that the trucker convoy is violent and evil and should be stopped.  A larger portion of the people we know are in support, though.  Also, we decided to go during the week as more support is needed then.  Most people can attend on weekends.

Hopefully, I can give some honest insight as to what it is really like here.

We brought lots of warm clothes expecting some seriously cold temperatures.  It is February in Ottawa in after all.

We arrived in the Parliament area around 11 am.  Lots of smiles greeted us.  One of the first people we met was ‘Kevin’.  He is originally from Iran.  Lived their under the rule of Ayatollah Khomeini.  He told us this to make the point that he was quite familiar with oppression.  For us it was the first of many emotional moments of the day.  Such a warm kind man.  After several heartfelt hugs and chatting for a bit we moved on.

Throughout the day we spoke to a couple dozen truckers.  Hailing from all over the country.  Ranging in age from 30 to 70 years old.  John, about 30 years old, from the Windsor area: we walked and spoke with him for a while.  “I’m doing this for my kids” was his statement.

The underlying theme here was a passion for our country.
